Maincheck recently achieved the Microsoft Partner Gold Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) Competency. As a result of the depth of knowledge and references required to attain this recognition, Maincheck is currently one of the few companies worldwide and Portugal first company to achieve Gold ALM Competency.

By applying its expertise in ALM, Maincheck helps companies significantly improve quality and productivity within their software engineering processes. Leveraging on various Microsoft technologies such as Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, SharePoint and Project, ALM can help business leverage technology to increase their profitability.

Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) is the continuous process of managing the entire lifecycle of a software product from its inception through its end-of-life. It includes aspects related to project management and decision making as well as product development and operational activities necessary for the use of the product such as formulation and communication of business and technical requirements, code design and architecture, project tracking, change management, coding, testing, debugging and release management.

“We love to go to the field, talk with people and blend in while they are working. We focus on core software development activities making sure teams have everything they need to do an excellent job.” commented Maincheck’s ALM evangelist, Luís Carvalho.

Microsoft Partner Gold Competency

Achieving a Microsoft Partner Gold Competency is accomplished through a rigorous process requiring examination and assessment of knowledge, skills and successful business development within the defined area. Only companies demonstrating the highest, most consistent capability and commitment within a specific business solution area are awarded the designation.

The new Microsoft competence model, recognizably the most demanding and the best adjusted to the different areas of technological competence, also brings additional benefits that further strengthen its relationship with Microsoft and allow for greater service to Maincheck’s clients. This includes access to multiple community engagements designed to refine solution strategies and provide information on developing technologies, as well as access to additional key resources housed within the Microsoft Partner Network.
